I’m hopefully assuming that last night was the last time we’ll fire up the grill or build a massive fire in our backyard. The pit will be dragged to a new yard and next summer will see action in a new neighborhood. Our backyard has been really good to us. It has given us a haven for steady and passionate discussions. The yard has been a blanket for countless games and picnics. The garage has contained a few Halloween, Birthday, Baby Shower, and Going Away parties. The hammock has gently lulled a few adults and babies into a quick afternoon nap. I’m going to have a hard time saying Good-Bye to the backyard. But last night was a sweet thank you.
