Last time 12.12.12 rolled around the world was very different. But I’m hoping that it was also similar. I hope that it was filled with families just trying to do their best by each other. I’m guessing that families revolved around each other like tiny solar systems. I’m sure parents were deeply in love with their kids and were sometimes driven mad by those same children. Names and toys were different, but I hope that December 12, 1912 was filled with families who loved each other. Not in grandiose and flowery ways, but simple and organic ways.
You’ll notice those ways in this video of our 12.12.12. Becks went to daycare and Coop had a day off school. We did some errands. Friends pitched in to help me work without having to use a vacation day. Daycare had it’s annual “Night Out for Parents” so Mark and I had a much needed kid-free restaurant trip. The boys laughed and played when they should have been sleeping. Becks got out of bed to ask us to re-cover him up. And we caught up on some Netflix. Normal day and night with the family. Nothing grandiose. Just pure family love.
