Happy New Year!

I usually love the week between Christmas and New Year’s.  It’s almost as if the world shuts down only to create Best Of lists.  I scurry to add the Best of 2012 books to my library list.  Marvel at how many movies I didn’t see again.  I love scrolling through photographers’ best photos.  And rereading Bloggers’ favorite posts of 2012.  For the past three years, I put up my own favorite 365 photos and end with my own 365 video.

But my own Best Of didn’t happen this year.  No 365 means no video.  But I knew I could create a Best Of slide show and still capture the same snappy view of our 2012.  But I didn’t and I’m ok with it.  The past three months have been exhausting and my plan for the holiday vacation was to be as lazy as possible for two weeks.  If I didn’t want to do something, I didn’t.  If I wanted to live in my jammies for three days, I did.  Didn’t brush my teeth in the morning?  Please…  There would be tomorrow morning.  And we’re going to lazily greet 2013.  Everyone minus Becks is dealing with an awful cold and sore throat.  I dragged the boys to the grocery, stocked up on some food, and we’re back in our PJ’s.

Not only did I need the Lazy Vacation because of the previous three months, I feel like my body knows that 2013 is going to be fan-fucking-tastic and that I’m going to need all my awesomeness to survive it.  2013 feels like it’s going to be all shiny and glittery.  No need walking into it feeling poopy or burnt out.  I’m going to start this year of Awesome with some good mojo.  A little Badassry and some Humor are going to be my road trip buddies for the new year.  We’re buckled in, got our snacks, and we’re waving good-bye to 2012.  Badassry is screaming, “Suck it 2012!”  Humor is singing, “Bring it 2013!”  And I’ve got my foot and the pedal.

Thank you for making my 2012 pretty swell!

Have a happy and safe New Year’s celebration!
