You Need Something Beautiful. And You Want to Feel Good? I've Got You Covered.
Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 1:27PM I have young children and I'm not sure how to really explain the earthquake and tsunami in Japan without scaring them. As a woman in her mid-thirites, the pictures and accounts frighten me. The devastation is hard to fathom from my comfy chair in Ohio. The pain and loss will be felt for years by these residents and our world. So instead of going into the details with my boys, I explained that it is our responsibility as humans to help those less fortunate and find themselves in great need. I believe that the best way to encourage this behavior is by example. Sometimes all we can do is write a check and say a prayer. But I also believe that people should use their talents to make the world brighter. Combine the two and the impact could be powerful.
I'm lucky to have friends who are talented artists with generous hearts. The women from Mainemomma, Gonzomama Knits, Laura Louise Photography have graciously donated prints for sale until 3/19. All proceeds from this sale will be given to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Each 8x12 photograph has a lustre finish on borderless archival paper. Your purchase will be shipped directly from Costco professional printers which will cut down on shipping costs. Is someone having a birthday, graduating, moving, or needs a pick-me-up? Consider one of these beautiful prints. Do you have a corner in your house that's begging for artwork? Well, I've got 8 prints for you to choose from! I'm sure one or two or more would look lovely in your home. We've priced each print at an extremely affordable $20. Not only will you help families in Japan, but you'll also have something gorgeous in your hands.
